Driveway Cleaning

Most of the enquiries we receive are from people looking to have their driveways cleaned and sealed. The requests come from homeowners in towns all over Cornwall, from Truro to Penzance in the south west. Although we specialise in cleaning and sealing block paved driveways, we can also refurbish imprinted concrete, tarmac or paving slabs. 

Maintenance of block paving often poses the biggest challenge because it is generally very porous and left unprotected will soon attract the growth of moss, weeds, lichen and algae. If you have a north facing driveway or a shaded area this problem can be exacerbated.

To ensure we get the best results every time, we follow a proven procedure to clean and seal a block paved surface. We jet wash the driveway first with a flat headed rotary cleaner and then clean the paved area with a high pressure lance to remove any remaining dirt between the joints of the block paving.

The proces of cleaning and sealing a driveway is done in stages:-

• Any paving is best pre-treated with fungicidal wash or weed killer
• Any oil or grease stains should be treated with oil remover
• Pressure clean the driveway with a rotary headed jet washer
• Re-sand any joints prior to sealing (block paving only)
• Smartseal paving sealers are sprayed or rollered onto the paving.

Sealing the surface of the driveway will help to protect it and keep it looking good and cut down on maintenance.
